Overview
Overview of Scientist Invitation Program to Korea 2025
Background
  • The Scientist Exchange Initiative, proposed by Korea, emphasizes that facilitating cross-border exchanges will help scientists to address a wide range of global challenges that hinder sustainable and inclusive growth in the Asia-Pacific region. The Initiative also highlights building scientific capacity, providing an enabling environment for innovation and enhancing regional science and technology connectivity. As a part of the Scientist Exchange Initiative, the Scientist Invitation Program aims at promoting active exchanges and strengthening research networks among scientists in the Asia-Pacific region.
Objective
  • The "Scientist Invitation Program to Korea 2025" promotes active exchanges and expansion of research networks among scientists in the Asia-Pacific region through a specialized training program for scientists invited from member economies. The Program will also provide streamlined and convenient visa issuance, along with fast-track entry and exit procedures at a port of entry, which will be evaluated for effectiveness.
